Rod Tatchell has always been a little different. And so it came as no surprise to his friends and family when he decided he wanted to go about being a lawyer in a different way. He wanted to specialise in Wills and Estates and do it incredibly well. He wanted to make it easier and more convenient for clients, so he became mobile so that he could visit clients in a place that they felt most comfortable.
After practising as a principal lawyer in Victoria since 1973 he founded the present law practice in Western Australia in 1994 and now has over 50 years' experience in Wills and Estates. He's seen it all. Rod's gregarious and funny nature lightens the mood and his professionalism and sage practical advice is respected and trusted by clients and practitioners from all over Western Australia.

Laura the Lawyer was admitted to practice in 2011, and after over a decade of well rounded legal experience in both Perth and Melbourne in private practice and in-house for an international organisation, she returned to Perth to join the family business in 2021, working alongside her father Rod. She is passionate about helping her clients implement the right estate plan that is easy to understand and fits their objectives and needs. With her friendly and approachable nature, she brings a sense of ease, simplicity and comfort to a daunting task, leaving her clients with a feeling of peace and wellbeing.
She provides advice in relation to Wills whether they are basic or incorporate testamentary trusts, enduring powers of attorney, enduring powers of guardianship, estate administration, business, trust and SMSF succession and other aspects of estate planning
Our way of working
Tatchell Legal provides a valuable, efficient and convenient service. We will email you a link to a questionnaire so that you can provide us with your information.
This enables us to better understand your needs and to prepare drafts before we meet. Then, we will schedule an appointment to come see you or your loved one at a time and place that is convenient to you, whether that be at your home, in hospital or in a nursing home. You can otherwise attend one of our offices in either Duncraig or Doubleview. We bring our laptop and printer with us so that all documents can be prepared and executed right there on the spot, or if further time is required we will arrange a further session for signing. You will need to organise a witness (someone not mentioned in the documents) for any signing sessions that are not at our offices. We provide the witness when the meeting is at our offices.
